Rama University Nursing Students Spread Happiness at Apna Ghar Orphanage

The Faculty of Nursing at Rama University, Uttar Pradesh, continues to exemplify its commitment to community engagement and social responsibility. The Department of Community Health Nursing organized a warm-hearted visit to the Apna Ghar Orphanage on August 12, 2023, which had a long-lasting impact on both the students and the orphanage's young residents.
Under the guidance of the university's esteemed faculty members, students from various nursing programs, including B.Sc. Nursing 4th Year, GNM 1st Year, and ANM 2nd Year, embarked on a meaningful journey to Apna Ghar, an orphanage managed by Asha Trust. The supervisor of Apna Ghar, Mr. Mahesh Kumar Pandey, welcomed the students and shared insights into the orphanage's role in the lives of the 45-50 boys, aged 12 to 18, who call it their home.
The visit was an opportunity for the nursing students to connect with the children on a personal level. Heartfelt interactions allowed the children to share their stories and feelings, shedding light on their unique experiences. To foster an atmosphere of camaraderie, the students showcased their diverse talents, fostering smiles and laughter among both the visitors and the young residents.
Apna Ghar's inhabitants, in a display of pride and enthusiasm, provided an enchanting tour of their living space and routines. Witnessing the children's resilience and the care they received from the orphanage staff left an indomitable impression on the visiting students. The event underscored the crucial role that orphanages play in nurturing young souls and providing them with a sense of belonging.
Prof. (Dr.) Jasmi Manu Principal/Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, expressed gratitude to the caretakers for their dedication to the children's welfare. She emphasized the value of such interactions in shaping the nursing students' sense of responsibility toward society beyond their academic pursuits.
