Orientation Program for Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences conducted

An Orientation can be used to build a network of resources that will help students to start their journey at Rama University in a better manner on the right path. The Orientation Program is an opportunity for any student to learn, how to navigate his campus and get introduced about the institute.
Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Rama University had organized an Orientation Program for the newly admitted students at the institute premises from 17th to 19th August 2019. The major objective of the program was to make students aware of the academic aspects of the course, and the rules and regulations of the Institute.
The program was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest Dr. Prabhat Ranjan and Mr. Sandeep Shukla, Registrar and Deputy Registrar of Rama University respectively along with Head of the Department of Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dr. Pradeep Singh.
Dr. Prabhat Ranjan, Registrar of Rama University while delivering a speech on the occasion, said that it was not the events but the attitude that resulted in success. One-third of what constitutes a person is his genetic inheritance; another one third comes from the kind of upbringing he /she receives and the remaining one third from one’s own self. He also stressed the importance of dedication to one’s profession and the need to have proper planning before taking up and implementing any project.
In his brief address to the students, the Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Rama University, Dr. Pradeep Singh expressed delight over the fact that Rama Group has evolved as a multi-activity and multi-industry group that actively participates in many major contributions to our society. It strongly believes in creating responsible citizens out of its students and hence works with a 360-degree approach towards the all-round development of the students. In this effort, the group provides adequate opportunities to its students to gain both the theoretical and the practical hands-on knowledge by way of providing training and work exposure within the Group companies. Rama University is a renowned name in the world of education. It is recognized by UGC (Government of India) and offers education at par with global paradigms. The university is rising as one of the largest educational establishments in the country having 9 constituent faculties, 3 teaching hospitals and state-of-the-art research centers to cater the need of students from all over the country.
At the end of his address, Dr. Singh tells a story to the students: A story of Tortoise and Rabbit. The story completed in four parts with the morals ‘hard work is important to win. Do not be lazy.’, ‘real-life problems require excellence while artificial problems like examinations require competition’, ‘Team Work’ and ‘Work for a goal not for self-glory. Share the credit.’ respectively, in each part of the story.
Recently University has initiated programs in Pharmaceutical Sciences including Undergraduate Course (B.Pharm) and Diploma (D.Pharm) Courses since 2018 with the approval of Pharmacy Council of India to serve the needs of the Pharmaceutical Industry as well as Community Pharmacy services at the State, National as well as global level.
Mr. Himanshu Awasthi, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences briefed the students about the rules and regulations of the institute and requested the students to understand and abide by the institutional rules and norms.
In between, the students were introduced to all the faculty members.
Dr. Pradeep Singh, Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences gave necessary information about the academic design of the first year B.Pharma and D.Pharma Course and the University and Institute rules and regulations regarding academic matters.
A vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Garima Mishra, Associate Prof., Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Rama University, Kanpur. After that refreshment was also arranged for the newly joined students.
On the next day campus visit was organized by the faculty members of pharmaceutical sciences for the newly admitted students. All the departments like Medical College, Nursing, Dental Sciences, Health and Nutrition Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Commerce and Management, Professional Studies, Juridical Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Paramedical Sciences including Hostel were visited by students. The Orientation Program successfully concluded with the campus visit.
