National Science Day Concluded with a Note of Perfection

On February 28, 2022, to cherish the spirit and essence of science, the Innovation Council Cell, Faculty of Engineering and Technology of Rama University, Uttar Pradesh, Kanpur, organized National Science day. This day was celebrated to mark the Raman Effect discovered by the great Indian physicist Sir C V Raman. Virtual Expert talks commemorating the year’s theme “Integrated Approach in Science and Technology for a Sustainable Future” were staged on this special occasion. About the Event:
Our Provost, Dr. Hari Om Sharan, Dean Academic Affairs and Faculty of Engineering and Technology, inaugurated the program by informing the students about the importance of National Science Day, notable achievements of C V Raman, and the importance of this year’s theme. He emphasized the importance of scientific applications in daily life and encouraged popularizing the use of Science and Technology sustainably. He also stressed on the importance of science and technology in our present generation and motivated better-integrated research while applying innovative ideas.
Rama University believes in bridging the gap between industry, research and academia through talks by bringing eminent speakers from organizations of high repute together on one common platform. Keeping up with the trend, on the occasion of National Science Day, two such talks were organized on this year’s theme. HoDs, faculty members, and students from different departments of FET delivered their presentations on the integrated approach in Science and Technology for Sustainable development.
The first talk of the day was by our Chief Guest, Dr. Manoj Umesh Sharma, ‘G’ Associate Director, Solid State State Physics Laboratory (SSPL) Ex- CEO, STARC, Bangalore. He not only applauded the remarkable achievements and recognitions of Rama University but also encouraged its faculty members to enhance and achieve greater heights in the research field by focusing on an integrated approach in S&T. The second talk was delivered by our special guest Dr. A.C. Pandey, Scientist, Head, IT division, Defence R & D who threw light on the ardent significance of sustainability in all the aspects for the welfare of human being.
After the experts’ talks, the event was followed by presentations delivered by FET intellectuals. They showcased the achievements of their respective departments and discussed the attainable future goals. Inspiring presentations were delivered by Mr. Satish Parihar, HoD, Civil Engineering Department, Mr. Samir Mishra, Asst. R & D Director, Mr. Aditya Veer Gautam, HoD, Mechanical Engineering Department, Dr. C.S. Raghuvanshi, Prof. Computer Science Department, Dr. Dinesh Chand Agarwal, Asst, Prof., Department of Biotechnology, Mr. Santosh Singh, Asst. Prof. Electrical Engineering Department and Mr. Deepak, student, Mechanical Engineering Department.
The event was conducted successfully under the supervision of Dean Academic Affairs and Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Dr. Hari Om Sharan and Mrs. Rati Bajpai, HoD, Applied Science and Humanities, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, and coordinated activities of Institution’s Innovation Council, Faculty and students of the university. The event ended with the vote of thanks delivered by DR. C. S. Raghuvanshi, Convener, Institution’s Innovation Council, Rama University.
