Fostering Breastfeeding Support for Working Parents: Rama University's World Breastfeeding Week Celebration 2023

On August 3rd, 2023, Rama University's Faculty of Nursing celebrated the ongoing World Breastfeeding Week Celebration with an extension outreach programme focused at addressing the rural community. The event was held in Kukradev village, Mandhana, Kanpur, and the local community was actively involved.
The day's highlight was a compelling role play presented by the nursing students, emphasizing the significance of breastfeeding in a working parent's life. With the kind permission from the local Gram Pradhan, the health awareness program commenced, attracting a well-cooperative gathering of villagers, including mothers and their family members.
Nursing students highlighted the importance of breastfeeding as well as how families and society can actively support breastfeeding mothers. Participants were educated on many aspects of breastfeeding through interactive role play, developing an awareness of community awareness and responsibility.
The event was met with admiration as the villagers appreciated the students' enthusiastic engagement in the role play. Mothers and family members, in great numbers, voluntarily attended the health awareness program, displaying their commitment to nurturing a healthier and more supportive environment for breastfeeding mothers.
The 3rd day of breastfeeding week concluded on a high note, with heartfelt gratitude extended to all the mothers and other family members who actively participated in the awareness program. The Faculty of Nursing at Rama University remains dedicated to promoting the cause of breastfeeding and empowering working parents and also rural community with valuable insights and support.
