Industrial Visit to Indian Institute of Pulses Research (IIPR), Kanpur
Department of Biotechnology, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Rama University, Mandhana Kanpur organized an Industrial Visit to IIPR – Indian Institute of Pulses Research, Kanpur for their students of B.Tech Biotechnology/B.Sc Biotechnology/ M.Sc Biotechnology on Tuesday, 10th October 2017.
The main objective of the visit was to inculcate practical knowledge about various processes involved in pulse farming and related research. The visit enabled the students to get familiarized with various steps involved in pulse cultivation like pulse composting, growing, spawning, plant breeding, crapping and quality testing. They also visited Genomics, Tissue culture, Instrumentation laboratories and Museum. Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Dr. K. R. Soren and their team mates guided students throughout the visit and answered all the queries of the students.
The visit proved highly beneficial to the students as they got an opportunity to experience the learning of basic processes of pulse farming. The visit was coordinated by Dr. Anil Kumar and supported by Mr.Ajit Pratap Singh Yadav, Ms. Sapna Jain and Ms. Anshu Gautam. It was a creative and innovative step towards sustainable development of students in the area of Plant Biotechnology.
