World Health Day 2025
Department of Community Medicine, Rama Medical College,Mandhana, Kanpur organized The World Health Day April,2025 at Rama Medical College under the guidance of Dr. Anju Gahlot,HOD Dept. of Community Medicine.
The theme for the World Health Day 2025 is ‘Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures’
The World Health Organization will observe its 77th birthday. World Health Day is celebrated every year on 7th April to mark the anniversary of the founding of the World Health Organization (WHO). The theme for 2025, “Healthy beginnings, hopeful futures”, highlights the urgent need to improve maternal and newborn health globally.
Each year, nearly 300,000 women die due to complications related to pregnancy and childbirth. Over 2 million newborns die within their first month of life, and another 2 million are stillborn—most of these deaths are preventable. Alarmingly, four out of five countries are not on track to meet the 2030 targets for maternal survival, and one in three will miss newborn mortality goals.
This year’s campaign calls on governments, health systems, and communities to enhance care before, during, and after childbirth. It emphasizes not only addressing obstetric complications but also mental health, noncommunicable diseases, and family planning—ensuring comprehensive, respectful, and quality care for women and newborns.
The day was celebrated under the guidance of Dr. Prof. Anju Gahlot (HOD) Department of Community Medicine in college. Dignitaries present were Dr. Prof. Anju Gahlot, Dr. Prof. Atul Kumar Singh, Dr Anas Ahmad Khan, Dr. S.P. Singh, Dr. Chitra Chauhan, Dr. Poonam Kushwaha.
