World Earth Day Celebrated at Rama University with Expert Lecture on Agricultural Sustainability and Campus Eco Activities, Mandhana, April 22, 2025.

The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Allied Industries (FASAI), Rama University, observed World Earth Day with a meaningful lineup of academic and environmental activities aimed at spreading awareness about agricultural sustainability and ecological conservation.

The event began with an expert lecture delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Naveen Kumar Arora, Professor at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow, who addressed students and faculty on the theme "Agricultural Sustainability: The Need of the Hour." Dr. Arora discussed the impact of conventional farming practices on natural resources and highlighted eco-friendly alternatives such as organic farming, use of biofertilizers, conservation of soil biodiversity, and integrated farming systems.
Following the lecture, a Quiz Competition was organized for B.Sc. Agriculture students to assess and enhance their knowledge on Earth Day themes, sustainable agriculture, and climate-related issues.
Students also participated in a Parthenium grass eradication campaign across the university campus. The harmful invasive weed was manually removed as a step towards biodiversity protection and clean campus maintenance.
In a compassionate gesture towards urban wildlife, students installed several bird water feeders at different locations within the campus to provide water for birds, especially during the summer heat. The efforts of the students and faculty members made the occasion both educational and impactful. Overall it was a successful event.
