As part of the global observance of World AIDS Day, Rama University organized a spirited awareness rally on November 30, 2024, under the theme "Take the Rights Path: My Health, My Right." This initiative, led by the Department of Adult Health Nursing, Faculty of Nursing, aimed to promote awareness about HIV/AIDS, advocate for prevention, and challenge the stigma surrounding the disease.
Inauguration and Keynote Presence
The rally was inaugurated by the Honourable Director of Rama University, Dr. Prateek Singh, alongside distinguished guests including Prof. Dr. Hari Om Sharan, Dean of Academics & Planning, Prof. Dr. Jasmi Johnson, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, and deans from various faculties. Their presence underscored the university's commitment to fostering education and public health advocacy.
The Rally in Action
The rally began at 10:00 AM at the VC Building Secretariat, covering a 2-kilometer route to Mandhana. Over 150 participants, including students, faculty, and staff, marched with determination, proudly wearing red ribbons symbolizing solidarity with individuals living with HIV/AIDS.
The energy was electrifying as participants moved through the streets, raising awareness with slogans and banners advocating for health rights, equality, and inclusivity. Each step echoed the rally’s mission of educating communities, combating misinformation, and fostering a stigma-free society.
