Third Convocation Ceremony of Rama University, Kanpur, Celebrates Excellence in Education

Kanpur, December 8, 2024: The third convocation ceremony of Rama University, Kanpur, unfolded with grandeur on Sunday, marking a pivotal moment in the academic journey of its students. Distinguished dignitaries, including the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Adityanath ji, the Hon’ble Speaker of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Shri Satish Mahana, and the State Higher Education Minister, Shri Yogendra Upadhyay, graced the occasion.
The ceremony began with a floral tribute at the statue of Imperial Lord Shri Ram, followed by a tree plantation drive led by the Chief Minister and other dignitaries, emphasizing environmental sustainability. The event transitioned into an academic procession, lighting of the ceremonial lamp, and the patriotic anthem, Vande Mataram.
Honouring Academic Excellence
Chancellor Dr. Suraj Babu Singh Kushwah presented the university's progress report, showcasing its academic growth and contribution to higher education. Degrees were awarded to 1,935 students and research scholars from 2023 and 2024 batches. Of these, 49 students earned Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees, 84 received gold medals for academic excellence, and 41 were honoured with silver medals.
Gold medals were conferred across faculties, with significant contributions from Engineering and Technology (29 recipients), Juridical Sciences (16 recipients), and Nursing (3 recipients). Silver medallists hailed from Medical Sciences, Dental Sciences, Agriculture, and Engineering.
Inspiring Speeches and New Milestones
The Hon’ble Chief Minister lauded the university's commitment to quality education, urging students to contribute to the state's development. Shri Satish Mahana praised the institution for producing globally competitive professionals, while Shri Yogendra Upadhyay commended its role in enhancing higher education in Uttar Pradesh.
A highlight of the ceremony was the inauguration of the Dr. B.S. Kushwah Medical Science Building at Lakhanpur, a testament to the university's expansion and commitment to medical education.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Vice Chancellor Dr. Anu Kushwah, who encouraged graduates to embody integrity, excellence, and service. The celebratory atmosphere reflected the pride and joy of students, faculty, and families, making the day a memorable milestone in Rama University's journey.
