Rama University Observes International Day of Persons with Disabilities

On December 2nd, Rama Institute of Paramedical Sciences, RAMA University, Mandhana, organized a special event to mark International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Under the guidance of Dr. Brijendra Nigam (Principal & Dean), and in collaboration with faculty members, the event embraced this year’s global theme, “Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future.”
The event aimed to raise awareness about the challenges faced by people with disabilities and emphasized inclusivity, equal rights, and empathy. Led by dedicated faculty members — Dr. Apoorva Srivastava, Dr. Nidhi Shukla, Dr. Minhaj Tahir, and Dr. Gulwish Sadique — the celebration focused on educating students and fostering an inclusive mind-set. Special recognition was given to Mrs. Ruma Chaturvedi, Director of Pushpa Khanna Memorial Centre, for her valuable contributions.
Objectives of the Day
The key objectives of the celebration were:

- To educate students on the importance of inclusivity and accessibility.

Highlights of Activities and Programs
- Guest Speaker Session
The event featured Mrs. Ruma Chaturvedi, Director of Pushpa Khanna Memorial Centre, as the Chief Guest. Mrs. Chaturvedi spoke about her experiences working with individuals living with autism. Her stories of resilience and success inspired students to reflect on societal perceptions of disabilities.
- Nukkad Natak Performance
Students from NLK Disha School performed a Nukkad Natak highlighting disabilities such as Dyslexia and Dysgraphia. The performance creatively depicted how individuals with disabilities can live independently and contribute meaningfully to society.
The event served as a platform to encourage empathy, raise awareness, and amplify the voices of individuals with disabilities for a more inclusive future.
