They are made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called guts.” This statement resonated profoundly at Rama University as the Sports and Cultural Fiesta, Umang-2024, swept the university grounds with a fervor of excitement and community spirit. Distinguished dignitaries, students, and faculty members came together for an unforgettable celebration, featuring athletic competitions, cultural performances, and an inspiring display of talent and teamwork.
A Grand Inauguration and Inspiring Speeches
The event opened with a customary lamp-lighting ceremony by the university’s esteemed dignitaries, symbolizing the triumph of knowledge over ignorance. The gathering was honoured by the presence of the Vice Chancellor Dr. Janardhan Amarnath B.J, Directors Dr. Prateek Singh and Dr. Pranav Singh, Registrar Mr. Prabhat Ranjan, along with deans, principals, and faculty heads from various departments. Dean of Academics and Planning, Professor (Dr.) Hari Om Sharan, delivered stirring remarks that energized the audience, followed by an inspiring speech from the Honorable Vice Chancellor, leaving the crowd motivated and ready for the day's events.
Cultural Extravaganza: Dance, Theatre, and Music
The cultural segment began with a mesmerizing dance performance, Vandana, by the Dance Club "Natarajan," which set a spiritually uplifting tone. The Theatre Club's musical skit Bouncing Bounders and group dances captured the hearts of the audience. Each department showcased its unique talents through poetry, traditional dances, and musical performances, creating a lively and engaging ambiance that filled the campus with applause and cheers.
Thrilling Sports Competitions and RAMA Champions Trophy 2024
Sports competitions were a highlight of the event, marked by intense matches and a display of athletic prowess. The RAMA Champions Trophy 2024, symbolizing the spirit of healthy competition, was a much-anticipated moment. Key sports results included:
- Table Tennis Final: Ms. Midhat Fatima Khan (MBBS) clinched victory over Ms. Sindhuja Singh (MBBS).
- Basketball: Bachelor of Medicine emerged victorious in a match against the Faculty of Commerce and Management, while FJS and Pharmacy won in other rounds.
- Cricket: MBBS UG (B Team) triumphed over FET (C Team).
