Rama Institute Hosts Workshop on Neurological Rehabilitation for Spinal Cord Injury Patients

Kanpur, December 19, 2024 – Rama Institute of Paramedical Sciences (RIPS) organized a one-day hands-on workshop on "Neurological Rehabilitation of Patients with Spinal Cord Injury," under the coordination of Dr. Apoorva Srivastava. The event witnessed active participation from 55 students of RIPS.
The workshop commenced with an inaugural session, including the felicitation of the resource person, Dr. Adarsh Kumar Srivastav, Assistant Professor at the School of Health Sciences, CSJM University, Kanpur, by the Principal of RIPS, Dr. Brijendra Nigam.
Dr. Adarsh Kumar Srivastav, an expert in Neurological Physiotherapy, provided insightful guidance on managing spinal cord injury (SCI) cases. He shared his clinical expertise on recognizing common symptoms, eliciting sensory responses in cases of sensory loss, and implementing effective physiotherapy regimes.
Students were introduced to basic assessment techniques to classify SCI types and set targeted treatment goals. The session included interactive case studies, offering participants practical exposure to physiotherapy treatments.
The workshop concluded with a feedback session, where students expressed high levels of satisfaction, praising the clarity and applicability of the concepts learned. The initiative emphasized the importance of skill-based learning and practical engagement in paramedical education.
