Introduction:
A one-day seminar titled "Personality Grooming and the Transformative Role of Theatre in Education" was successfully conducted at Rama University on 4th April 2025. The event was designed to align with the goals of the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020, focusing on holistic student development through the medium of theatre. It aimed at equipping students with essential life skills such as communication, creativity, self-expression, and emotional intelligence.
Objectives of the Seminar:
- Exploring theatre as a tool for personality development.
- Enhancing self-expression, creativity, and effective communication.
- Fostering leadership, entrepreneurial, and analytical thinking skills.
- Encouraging emotional awareness, interpersonal skills, and body language training.
- Guiding students to become proactive contributors and leaders in their respective fields.
Guest Speaker:
Prakhar Mishra
Co-founder, Theatrewala & Ex Indian Air Force Officer
Mr. Mishra shared his inspiring journey from the Indian Air Force to co-founding “Theatrewala.” He demonstrated how theatre practices can profoundly shape a person’s confidence, presence, and mindset. He conducted interactive sessions that engaged the audience in activities related to voice modulation, posture, and imaginative thinking.

1. Voice Toning & Modulation – Techniques to improve vocal strength and communication impact.
2. Body Posture & Language – Tips to appear more confident and composed in public settings.
3. Imagination & Visualization – Exercises to stimulate creativity and innovation.
4. Emotional Intelligence – Recognizing and managing emotions for personal growth.
5. Critical & Analytical Thinking – Problem-solving through theatre-based games and scenarios.
6. Entrepreneurial Skills – Inspiring students to create opportunities and think beyond traditional career paths.
7. Interpersonal Skills – Team-building exercises to enhance collaboration and relationships.
Outcome of the Seminar:
The seminar left a lasting impact on the students. They not only gained knowledge but also actively participated in exercises that challenged their comfort zones and built their confidence. Students appreciated the unique approach of blending theatre with personality grooming, and many expressed interest in continuing such learning through future workshops.
Conclusion:
The seminar proved to be a remarkable step toward integrating creativity and emotional intelligence into academic life. It showcased how theatre can be a transformative educational tool, capable of shaping personalities and nurturing future-ready leaders, perfectly echoing the values of the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
