FJMC Celebrates World Photography Day

On the occasion of World Photography Day, the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication organized a lecture on photography platform for the amateur photographer on 19 August 2019. A photography competition was also organized. The themes of the photography competition were “Poverty” and “Nature”. The total number of entries was 25 including both themes, i.e., Nature and Poverty.
The exhibition of photos started at 10 A.M. at the ground floor of Pharmaceutical building. The criteria for evaluation of photographs were Visibility of object, Frame Composition, Quality of the photographs, Caption and Presentation. The participants explained and answered to the jury panel. Three members jury evaluated their photographs on the basis of different variables, although, they showed a very tough competition with each other. After a long discussion, the jury decided the winner of the photography competition. Ashutosh Tiwari, student of BJMC 2nd year won first prize in the poverty category, Ankur Tripathi, student of BJMC 2nd year won first prize in nature category, Shivam Shiv, student of BJMC, 1st won second prize in poverty category, Shubham Kushwah, student of B.Sc. Agriculture won 2nd prize in nature category whereas third prize was won by Shubhangi Mishra, student of BJMC, 2nd year and Janhavi Gupta, Student of B.Sc Nursing. The awards were distributed by Dr. Deepak Kumar and Dr. Santosh Kumar Gautam, the Dean of Faculty of Professional Studies. The members of Jury were Dr. Prabhat Ranjan, Registrar, Dr. Santosh Kumar Gautam, Dean (FPS) and Dr. Praveen Mall, HOD, Faculty of Juridical Sciences.
