17 Dec 2024
On the occasion of World AIDS Day observed on 2nd December 2024, the Faculty of Paramedical Sciences, Rama University, organized an awareness event under the global theme, “Take the right path, my health my right” by the World Health Organization. The program took place between 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at the Emergency Building of Rama Hospital and Research Centre.
A total of 150 students from BMLT (1st, 2nd, and 3rd years) and DMLT courses, along with 7 faculty members—Dr. Nidhi Shukla, Dr. Apoorva Srivastava, Dr. Minhaj Tahir, Dr. Gulwish Sadique, Mrs. Swastika Singh Chandel, Mrs. Meghna Verma, and Mr. Satyendra Singh Sachan—actively participated in the program.
The event aimed to create awareness about the increasing incidences of AIDS among adults and encourage students to promote health education. The activities began with an AIDS Awareness Rally that started from the Emergency Building and concluded at the FET Building. This rally helped students gain insights into the importance of AIDS prevention and education.
Following the rally, students of BMLT 1st and 2nd year performed a Nukkad Natak (street play) in front of the Emergency Building. The performance highlighted key messages on AIDS awareness, prevention strategies, and health promotion, effectively expressing the importance of early intervention and public education in combating the disease.
The program was coordinated by Mrs. Swastika Singh Chandel, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Paramedical Sciences, and convened by Dr. Brijendra Nigam, Principal and Dean, Faculty of Paramedical Sciences.
The event successfully fulfilled its objective of engaging students in spreading awareness and advocating for better health practices.
