Faculty of Nursing Announces Short-Term Courses on Hospital Infection Control Practices for 2024-25

The Faculty of Nursing is now accepting applications for its specialized short-term course titled "Hospital Infection Control Practices: PPE, Hand-Washing & BMW Management" for the 2024-25 session. The course, running from July to September 2024, is designed to equip healthcare professionals, particularly nurses, with essential skills in preventing and controlling infections in hospital settings.
Course Overview
Hospital-acquired infections (HAIs) are a significant concern in healthcare delivery, leading to increased morbidity, mortality, and healthcare costs. This course offers critical knowledge on infection control practices, focusing on improving the assessment, prevention, and management of HAIs. Participants will gain skills in monitoring quality indicators, implementing infection control protocols, and managing biomedical waste in accordance with global standards.
Key modules of the course include infection transmission prevention, sterilization, disinfection, the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and maintaining hand hygiene. These are integral to protecting both patients and healthcare workers from infections.
The course is open to nurses, nursing students, and other healthcare workers involved in infection control. The 40-hour program includes theoretical and practical components, with a registration fee of INR 1000. Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate, affirming their proficiency in hospital infection control practices.
