Dep. of Biotechnology at Rama University Organizes Insightful Industrial Visit to Mohan Goldwater Breweries

On November 9, 2024, the Department of Biotechnology, Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) at Rama University, Kanpur, facilitated an enriching industrial visit to Mohan Goldwater Breweries in Unnao. This educational excursion, held from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, was organized by Dr. Ajay Kumar, Head of the Biotechnology Department, and coordinated by Dr. Abhilasha, Mr. Aman Pratap Singh, and Ms. Avantika Dwivedi.
Mohan Goldwater Breweries, known for its prominent brands Tuborg and Carlsberg, opened its doors to 51 biotechnology students, providing them with a first-hand look at the beverage industry’s advanced applications of biotechnology. Led by Mr. Pushpendra Singh, Quality Head at the brewery, the tour offered a comprehensive overview of the entire beer production process—from raw material selection to fermentation and final packaging.
Students gained insights into modern brewing technology, including automated systems that ensure consistency and quality in production. Mr. Singh also introduced them to the brewery's rigorous quality control measures, such as testing for alcohol content, flavour profiling, and microbial safety, using advanced analytical tools.
Additionally, the visit highlighted Mohan Goldwater Breweries' dedication to sustainability, showcasing their waste management and water conservation practices aligned with environmental standards. The experience concluded with an engaging Q&A session, allowing students to deepen their understanding of biotechnology's role in the brewing industry by interacting directly with industry experts.
