Dainik Jagran’s “Udaan” initiative, a flagship empowerment program by one of India’s leading newspapers, organized a significant career development and women awareness event focused on menstrual health and hygiene. Held at the Faculty of Nursing, Rama University, the seminar aimed to break stigmas, educate participants, and promote sustainable practices.

Highlights of the Event
The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, led by Prof. Dr. Jasmi Johnson, Principal& Dean of the Faculty of Nursing Sciences. Aimed at addressing the deep-rooted stigma surrounding menstruation, the program emphasized education, empowerment, and resource accessibility.
Renowned speakers Ms. Anmol, Ms. Divya, and Ms. Apoorva Chaudry conducted an engaging session on menstrual hygiene management, shedding light on the importance of health and sustainability. To encourage eco-friendly practices, reusable sanitary pads were distributed among the attendees.
Breaking Barriers and Promoting Confidence
While some participants initially displayed hesitancy in engaging in open discussions about menstrual health, ice-breaking activities and supportive facilitation helped many overcome their reluctance. By the end of the session, participants expressed newfound confidence and a willingness to discuss menstrual health openly.
