5th Day & Valedictory Session Report of Faculty Development Program on AI

Kanpur, June 15, 2024 — The Faculty of Nursing at Rama University successfully concluded its five-day online Faculty Development Program (FDP) on "AI - Emerging Trends in Teaching, Health Care Research, and Clinical Practice" on June 15, 2024. The program, held from June 11 to June 15, aimed to equip educators with the knowledge and tools to integrate AI into their teaching and research practices.
Day 5 Highlights: Exploring AI’s Role in Healthcare Research
The final day of the FDP began with a feedback report from the fourth day and a warm welcome to guest speakers and delegates by Mr. Vipin A, Associate Professor and HOD of Child Health Nursing. The session, which commenced at 2:45 PM, featured Prof. Dr. Hari Om Sharan, Dean of Academics and Planning at Rama University, who presented on "Role of AI in Revolutionizing Health Care Research."
Dr. Sharan's enlightening session delved into the transformative potential of AI in healthcare research. He highlighted various applications, including medical imaging analysis, predictive analytics for patient outcomes, and AI-driven drug discovery. The discussions also addressed the ethical considerations and challenges associated with AI adoption in healthcare. Dr. Sharan's insights were particularly relevant in today's context and inspired delegates to explore AI's possibilities in their work.
Participants actively engaged in the session, sharing their insights and exploring opportunities to integrate AI into their research methodologies. Feedback from the participants underscored the practical relevance of the topics covered and the potential impact on advancing healthcare outcomes. The excitement and forward-looking perspective generated by the discussions were palpable, with a collective enthusiasm to apply newfound knowledge and explore AI’s evolving role in shaping the future of healthcare research.
Valedictory Session and Conclusion
The valedictory session marked the conclusion of the five-day FDP, celebrating the achievements and contributions of the participants. Participants expressed their gratitude for the valuable insights and knowledge gained throughout the program. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. K. Jyothisree, HOD of Adult Health Nursing, followed by a post-test taken by the delegates.
The feedback highlighted the program's effectiveness in fostering a collaborative learning environment and equipping educators with practical tools to enhance student learning outcomes. The FDP benefitted 148 faculty members, who are now better prepared to integrate AI into their teaching and research endeavours.
