Media Lab
- The Department has a state-of-art computer laboratory, E-mail, Internet, LAN and multimedia facilities are provided in the computer lab where students can do all sort of practical work. Trained professionals for guidance and tutorials support this laboratory.
- The computer lab has Wi-Fi connection with all the latest software installed.
Studio
- The Department has its own well equipped sound recording lab, video editing lab and studio for television and radio software production.
- Multi-cameras are employed on the set to simultaneously record or broadcast a show.
- Students can gain specialized exposure of multiple camera setups and multiple camera mode of production.
- In the studio students learn to practice the techniques and skills of conducting interesting interviews that are meaningful for the audience.
- All kinds of editing work can be done with audio-video editing console, professional audio recording facility is provided with latest software and shooting floor for having the firsthand experience to our students.
- Our non-linear editing studio is equipped with all the latest electronic equipment’s and editing software’s such as FCP, Avid and Premier.
Community Radio Station
- The department of Journalism and Mass Communication has its own Community Radio Station 90.8 Rama FM.
- The community radio broadcasts from the Department of Journalism and Mass communication, Rama University and covers 10KM radius from Rama University.
- This station broadcasts program in both Hindi and English languages.
- The aim is to spread and educate people about rural developmental programs.
- FM gives voice to the listeners on various issues concerning them and focus on community well-being issues relating to education, health, environment, agriculture, rural and community development.
- Media students will undergo training in the production of radio programs that includes writing of radio scripts, voice modulation and live broadcasting over an FM radio channel. The station will a “first of its kind” among CRS with 2 suites for radio production and one suite for transmission & live broadcast.
A) Video archives
The Department maintains a video archives on various activities happening in the University. These include the annual convocation ceremony, film festivals, the inauguration ceremony and functions of various departments, seminars, workshops other art and cultural events in the university campus. The Department produces quality educational programs and generates e-content materials in various fields and subjects. A separate web server has been established for all these productions work of the University.
B) Audio resources
The students of Journalism and Mass Communication has produced more than 20 hours of audio / radio content which are suitable for broadcast through any radio stations on varieties of topics like politics, lifestyle, education, social, entertainment etc.
