His works, presentations and publications expand over the full spectrum of Advanced Maxillofacial Surgery, covering Head-Neck-Skull base Oncosurgery to Craniofacial reconstructions and Facial Aesthetic Surgery.
Dr Srijon Mukherji FDS RCSEng ,FIBOMS has been pivotal in establishing the lesser known speciality of Oral and Facial Surgery in India in particular and elsewhere. Returning from his surgical appointments in the United Kingdom, he has been relentlessly engaged as a Consultant Surgeon in the speciality of Oral & Maxillofacial surgery in India. He has been the Chief Consultant Maxillofacial Surgeon of Apollo Gleneagles Hospitals, Kolkata since 2002 and has built a leading tertiary referral practice in head and neck cancer and Craniofacial Traumatology. He subsequently joined Fortis Hospitals and successfully completed over 2500 major maxillofacial surgeries with development of a strong training mandate for the speciality. With a vision of continuing care and meeting the growing demands for training he also started a one of its kind Maxillofacial Institute in Eastern India in order to further the cause of the speciality and training young surgeons alike. He founded the Calcutta Institute of Maxillofacial Surgery and Research which has formally trained over 12 surgical trainees a year for past 6 years. The Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland recognised that training for final FFDS RCS. His contributions to the growing speciality is immense and he has been the a beacon and leading torchbearer in the area of Maxillofacial training and education in eastern India.
