International Yoga Day” 21-6-2015 at Rama University

International Yoga Day, 21st June 2015 - A modern celebration of the ancient Indian discipline a yoga session was organised by Rama University at Lakhanpur, Mandhana and Hapur Campuses on Sunday. The day was chosen as it’s the longest day of the calendar year, a day connected with Sun, light and nature and not a day of personal importance. More than 1500 of Teachers, students and staff members were assembled at 5:45 AM in the grounds for practice Yoga and at 6:00 AM a yoga Session was started by Prof. Dr. S.K. Singh, Vice-Chancellor of the University. Prof. Singh explained that the art of practicing yoga helps in controlling an individual mind, body and soul. It brings together physical and mental disciplines to achieve a peaceful body and mind, it helps to manage stress and anxiety and keep you relaxed. It also helps in increasing flexibility, muscle strength and body tone.
It improved respiration, energy and vitality. Practicing yoga might seem like just stretching, but it can do much more for your body from the way you feel, look and move. At the entire campuses Yoga instructor demonstrated different Assan and Pranayam which can be practiced regularly in a daily family life. And while Mr. Prabhat Ranjan, the Registrar of the University has explained the ultimate goal of yoga is, however, to help the individual to transcend the self and attain enlightenment. He gave the some examples of Munis & Rishis of Ancient India. He also pointed out that many Islamic countries also supported the move to have a special day for yoga. The Combinations of all these programs were organized by Dr. Gopal Krishna Thapliyal, active Principal of Rama Dental College and Ajay Chauhan, Asst. Coordination Manager. Dr. Anu Kushwah, Director Rama Group, Dr. Lakshmi Rana, Principal, Rama Nurshing College were also present on this occasion.
