Choice Based Credit System

The Academic council of Rama University has adopted (as per U.G.C. Guidelines) the C.B.C.S. from session 2019-20 for newly admitted students in Semester 1 in all faculties running semester courses :
- Faculty of Engg. & Technology :
- Dept. of C.S.
- Dept. of Civil Engg.
- Dept. of Mechanical Engg.
- Dept. of Biotech Engg.
- Faculty of Commerce & Management
- Faculty of Juridical Science
- Faculty of Agriculture & Allied Science
- Faculty of Professional Studies.
- Dept of Journalism & Mass Communication.
Outline of C.B.S.C. Included in Curriculum
1. Core-course: A course which shall be compulsorily be studied by the candidate as a core requirement.
2. Elective Course: These courses are specify/specialized/supportive to the descriptive/subject of study which provides an extended scope.
2.1 Discipline specify Elective:The discipline oriented elective courses of inter- disciplinary nature have been added in elective courses.
2.2 Dissertation Project:The Project work designed to acquire specialized/advance knowledge ; the candidate shall studies such a course on his own with an advisory support of a teacher who will guide him/her
2.3 Generic Elective (G.E.) Course: An elective course have been included from an unrelated discipline/subject with intention to seek exposure.
3. Ability Enhancement Compulsory Courses (AECC): The AECC Courses are based upon the content that leads to knowledge enhancement: Following two courses have been added:- I. Environmental Science/ Studies (01 Paper of 02 credit in First Sem) II. English/MIL Communication (01 Paper of 02 credit in Second Sem)
4. Skill Enhancement Courses (SEC): (01 Paper of 02 Credit in each Sem) These are value based/skill based courses aimed at providing hands-on-training, competencies, skill etc. These courses shall be chosen by candidate from a pool of courses. The courses for 2019-20 are here under :

2) Bio fertilizer
3) Nursery & Gardening
4) Floriculture
5) Graphics & Designs
6) Basic writing skill for Media
7) Advance Legal writing skill
MOOC Compulsory for all Semester Courses
A student will be eligible to get Under Graduate degree only, if he/she completes additional university recommended MOOC/NPTEL courses. (Equivalent to 20 credits; NPTEL courses of 4 weeks, 8 Weeks and 12 Weeks shall be of 2,3 and 4 Credits respectively) through MOOCs. For registration to MOOCs Courses, the students shall follow NPTEL Site http:nptel.ac.in/ as per the NPTEL policy and norms. The students can register for these courses through NPTEL directly as per the course offering in Odd/Even Semester at NPTEL. These NPTEL courses (recommended by the University) may be cleared during degree program (not necessary one course in each semester). After successful completion of these Moocs/NPTEL courses the students, shall provide their successful completion NPTEL statues/certificates to the university. The student shall be awarded degree (on successful completion of MOOCS based 20 credit) only if he/she secures 7.50 or above CGPA and passed each subject of that Degree Programme.
